19 December -- Updated the Available page. The puppies are a month old today. All of
them are walking, playing and their personalities are starting to shine through. I should have
more pictures up by the end of this week.
13 December -- Finally have puppy pictures up! The puppies all have their eyes open and
are walking and starting to play more with each other. The last two born (Lizzy and Kip)
were quite a bit smaller at birth. Lizzy has pretty much caught up with Thumper and Roo,
but Kip is still a pretty small guy. However, he seems happy and healthy and is even more
advanced than his littermates in some ways. We'll try to update the pictures weekly, so stay
tuned!
19 November -- Puppies are here! Two red/white boys and two red/white girls. Pictures
coming soon.
19 October -- More fanconi results -- CH Echelon Noble Eagle of Melar, "Talon", is
PROBABLY CARRIER. This is actually great news! We knew that she had to at least be a
carrier since her sire was diagnosed with fanconi a couple years ago. Her carrier status means
that she will NOT develop fanconi and neither will her puppies as long as she's bred to a clear
dog! Congratulations to her owner, Melody of Melar Basenjis!
17 October -- Ultrasound confirms it!! Zin's ultrasound today showed between 4-6 puppies!
Our vet only gives a rough guesstimate -- she said it's too easy to sometimes count puppies
twice or miss a puppy that is up high. At any rate, it looks like there were definitely at least 4
puppies. Babies are due around November 14! We are still accepting one or two more

15 October -- We're expecting puppies! Please check out out Upcoming Litters page for

31 August -- Zin's fanconi results are back and she is PROBABLY CARRIER!! This means she
will never get fanconi and, as long as she is bred to a clear dog, her puppies will never get
fanconi!
17 August -- Our website is undergoing some much needed revamping! Any page that has
this new background has been updated. If it still has the old background, then I haven't
gotten to it yet! Check back often for updates!
10 August -- With a heavy heart, I helped Tia cross the rainbow bridge today. She died
from kidney failure secondary to Fanconi syndrome. With the release of the new fanconi
marker test, hopefully future basenjis will never have to face living with fanconi syndrome.

22 July -- Melar's Wild for Speed (SunDiata Dahabu Firimbi x CH Echelon Noble Eagle of
Melar) picks up another point by going Winner's Dog and Best of Opposite Sex at the
Nebraska Kennel Club show under judge Sandra Goose Allen. Smoke is a littermate to Star.
15 March -- Well, I've been a bit slow updating the website. Just too much going on
elsewhere! Congratulations to Melar's Wild By Nature, "Star", and her
owner/handler/co-breeder Melody Falcone! Star picked up her first major March 10 at the
Columbia, MO shows under judge Marcia Tucker. So far, Star has 9 points -- all from the
Bred-By Exhibitor classes and handled by Melody. Star is out of my first homebred champion
-- Talon (CH Echelon Noble Eagle of Melar) and is sired by my boy, Firbi (SunDiata Dahabu
Firimbi).
