Hip results -- finally!
After a snafu which resulted in Emmy's films sitting at the vet's office for 5 weeks, we
finally have her hip results.  She is OFA Good (BJ-2107G49F-NOPI).

Young Hopefuls
I was originally going to co-own the pick girl out of the Chaz x Talon litter with
their breeder, Melody.  However, one of the boys really caught my eye at 8 weeks.
So, I'm happy to announce that I'm the proud co-owner of Neeko --
Melar-Echelon As If By Magic.  Neeko lives with his breeder/co-owner
Melar
Basenjis in Nebraska.

Health test results
We're in the process of completing Emmy's health tests before breeding her this year.
So far her eyes have CERF'd with a single strand of iris-iris PPM in the right eye.
We're awaiting her official CERF #.  We're also waiting for the results of her hip
evaluation and fanconi test.

A New Year, A Revamped Website
I decided it was time to give the website a new look and update some pages. Come
back often to see the newest changes!  FYI -- if a page isn't on this background, then
it hasn't been updated yet!

A Year of New Beginnings
Although we didn't have any puppies in 2008, Christmas Eve did bring some
"grandpuppies" into the world.

Talon (CH Echelon Noble Eagle of Melar), owned by Melody Falcone of Melar
Basenjis in Nebraska, whelped a litter of 4 red/white puppies (3 boys, 1 girl) sired by
AB No Quarter Given at Melar.  You can see these cuties at the
Melar website.

Our Firbi (SunDiata Dahabu Firimbi) also became a father on Christmas Eve.  India
(CH Jumoke-Quita Dream of India) owned by Meg Sorhus of SouthHouse Basenjis
in Missouri, whelped a litter of 6 -- 3 brindle/white boys, 2 red/white boys, and 1
brindle/white girl.  These guys can be seen on Meg's
website.

We're hoping to have our own litter this year.  We're planning on breeding Emmy
(Lacada's Featured Attraction).  We're still trying to decide between two potential
sires right now, but either one would give us a chance at a three color litter
(black/white, red/white and tris).  Keep an eye on the
Upcoming Litters page for
more details.
